| Comments: | Many different pressings issued: Some with different tracklisting, "club" pressings, promotion-pressings and other various releases. It seems each country released a different version. Too many to mention! The Scandinavian pressing e.g., was also released in Germany for the "Bertelsmann Club", with the different tracklisting shown on the sleeve but the record was pressed with the tracks in the 'normal' sort. And many Scandinavian pressings are available, I don't know why ...! Confusing? Yes, I think it is.

COMMENTARY from Christian Kohlrautz, GERMANY (the author of F.R. David Discography)
The records I included in the discography are only items I have or those I know of. Anyone is kindly asked to add entries to it or suggest any correction or whatever. Also the remarks I wrote are based on information I have and might not be valid for other countries or so (maybe there ARE still records in the shops, but not in Germany!).
Most of the records by F.R.David are not easy to find or almost rare today. But those are often not collectors items, its just they are no longer available. So if I say these records are 'rare' I actually mean they must be seeked. The "Words"-single (like most of all the other items) can still be found on any free market and almost any record shop that still sells second hand 7" - it is indeed NOT a rarity! But that's no wonder since millions of copies were sold during the years. And for any copy of the records I bought I didn't spent more than $5 (I yet do hear all the enquiries for items :-) )!
There's one exception to that: I heard about a single that F.R.David released between 1972 and 1974 (!!!!). It has been sighted two times on this planet. This is perhaps "Rock Fame", a track that was chosen as the b-side for "Gotta Get A Move On" (1983, see discography). May pleeeeeaaaase someone confirm this. I do not know whether this is reliable or not.......!
There is a 7" by Dee Dee Bridgewater "Angel Of The Night" (Gala Records, 1990, GL1014, b/w "Heartache Caravan") on which "Robert Fitoussi" is credited as producer. I'm not sure, but it is very likely that this is really F.R.David, and since the single was produced in Norway and Paris there is almost definitely. But maybe someone "out there" could confirm this, too.
I welcome your comments. Please send them to Christian Kohlrautz
