DJ Tiësto - Summerbreeze - Label: 2000 Nettwerk America (US) Style: Trance Index #: 0 6700 30160 2 5 |
|
| Review: | |
I am quite ashamed of myself
to present you this domestically released album back in October 10,
2000 so late. Better late than never. I am absolutely stunned that such
a wonderful release is finally available here in States as domestic
release. Looks like we finally be getting some great tunes not paying
high import prices. DJ TIËSTO is continuing to surprise
us with his new compilations. Presented offering brings memory of some
beautiful summer 2000 hits such as "Dreaming"
by BT, "Silence" by DELERIUM
and many more. Many famous DJ's are responsible for the content of this
compilation. Armin Van Buuren who previously made many remixes
for DJ TIËSTO's compilations like one in Magik series is
one of them. His mix of "Dido" opens the
set. Very beautiful mix that starts like intro from the PHANTOM
OF THE OPERA. This is an example of OPERA
TRANCE style that is starting dominating TRANCE
these days (e.g. "Spente Le Stelle"
by EMMA SHAPLIN recently released on another domestic label:
RADIKAL RECORDS). The opera singer vocal is just hard to resist and
the music line is a temptation beyond believe. Stunning track to die
for! Oliver Lieb is another remixer featured in this set. His
remix of "Far From Over" by KAMAYA PAINTERS
turned this TECHNO tune to something that
is a hybrid between TRIBAL and PROGRESSIVE
HOUSE and turns while the track progresses into TRANCE
peak of the hour fare. Nick Muir also known as CABALA
is another producer featured. You'll find here his "Dark
Blue" track at Original mix. DJ TIËSTO have added
to the set also two of his own tracks: "Sparkles"
at Transa remix and "Wonder" which are
beautiful pieces of pure TRANCE/HOUSE like
he knows. He also done remixes for "Silence"
by DELERIUM and for "Caught Me Running"
by KENNY D. Another track that is very much worth of your attention
is "Going Up" by YAHEL. This contemporary
TECHNO/TRANCE fare delivers pumping up
bottom and mesmerizing gregorian chant overtone as it builds magnificently.
Truly a masterpiece. So taken together you have a chance of owing beatiful
set of tunes that will make your mind boiling. Don't miss such an opportunity
and get one for yourself! We warmly recommend this release to have in
your collection. In sound sampler we featured 6 tunes taken from this
compilation, however the original turntable mix by DJ TIËSTO
was not retained. What you have though, is the music that will drive
you exctatic! |

Trancemaster 27 Label: 2000 Vision Soundcarriers / Zomba (Germany) Style: Techno/Trance Index #: 302 4101-2 |
|
| Review: | |
I am late with the review
of volume 27 from TRANCEMASTER series
(since 28 has been just released as well). I decided to present you
this volume anyway. Back in November 2000 I reviewed volume 26 that
had an exceptional value for TRANCE fans.
Volume 27 is not different. Since there is tons of various compilations
released in this genre, you might have hard time to choose a right one.
Not anymore... TRANCEMASTER series
is your choice. Period. This set delivers 22 full length versions of
cutting-edge CLUB oriented TRANCE. You
will be amazed by the quality of featured tunes as well as careful choices
that were made to make this offering a fascinating and essential. First
CD starts with majestic "Sunflowers"
by VINCENT DE MOOR. Monster blend of turbo charged orchestra-type
synth bottom and angelic music line. Totally awesome! This CD is loaded
with tunes you will die for! "Into The Sky"
by NORDLANDER will surround you with killer hooks and gorgeous
synth lines, making this one unstoppable TRANCE
monster indeed. Sounds a little bit like RANK 1. Be prepared
for the TRANCE journey, you've been waiting
for! If you liked "The Sound Of Nature -
part 2" by MARIO LOPEZ. you have to check R.E.D.
S.E.C.T.O.R. mix featured on this CD. It is haunting, it is chilling
with female vocals that is an epic sense of ethereal weightlessness.
What a gorgeous tune! For AIRWAVE fans CD features their's latest
"Lightspeed". Second CD is also
a TRANCE monster. It starts with club remix
of "Struggle For Pleasure" by
MINIMALISTIX. Beatifully ambient, TRANCE
circuit party fare with gorgeous synths and piano section that soar.
The main section of this tune is an apogeum of DREAM/TRANCE
at it's best. You also cannot aford to miss KAY CEE mix of "Strike"
by PITCHER or DJ NATRON mix of "Exhale"
by SERVANT OF LIGHT. Truly mesmerizing tunes. Anyway, entire
second CD is going to give you unforgettable pleasure. Taken together
amazing set of tunes to have. Very valuable for DJs as well, since as
I mentioned before, it features full length tunes. After listening to
both CDs, I have to tell you, one of the best if not the BEST series
in ths genre. Get it! You won't regret it! Guaranteed! In sound sampler
I feature 9 tracks taken from both CDs. Enjoy quality music! |

Kosmonauts @ Kontor - Volume 2 Label: 2001 Kontor Records / Kosmo Records / Edel Records (Germany) Style: Techno/Trance Index #: 0122662ERE |
|
| Review: | |
Last September I introduced
you to what was simply called: "Kosmonauts@Kontor"
. This presented double CD album similar to the above mentiones is a
result of collaboration between two labels: Kosmo represented here by
DJ TOMCRAFT and from Kontor SUNBEAM. If you know the "first"
volume you will fill right at home, since the style of music featured
is exactly similar to one that was present in volume one. Once again
first CD features mostly TECHNO sound in
flawless mix performed by DJ TOMCRAFT. No wonder why tunes by
such DJs or projects like 3 PHASE feat. DR. MOTTE, MR.X & MR.Y,
ELEKTROCHEMIE LK, OLIVER LIEB found their home in his mix. DJ
TOMCRAFT featured his own "Silence"
tune as well. This fare represents actually combination of TRANCE
and TECHNO sound. Delicious offering. Don't
get confused, it has nothing to do with the track by DELERIUM
under the same title (actually DELERIUM's tune is featured as well).
Entire CD is heavy! Will do great in any TECHNO oriented floor. Second
CD was mixed by SUNBEAM and features outstanding choice of 20
TRANCE tunes. It starts with magnificent
"Sun" by SLUSNIK LUNA. This is quite psychedelic
EUROTRANCE I have to admit. This one also
have some HOUSE elements as well. For some
truly marvellous TRANCE fares check "Make
A Dream" by BISMARK, "Horizons"
by JAMES HOLDEN or "Vanderberg"
by RED BARON just to name the few. For the sound sampler I have
chosen 6 tracks from SUNBEAM mix. Keep in mind that the original
mixing was not retained. The sound was most important for me to present
you. For mixing and true adventure you have to get the real thing. Enjoy. To learn more about DJ TOMCRAFT and SUNBEAM visit their respective pages at www.djtomcraft.de and www.sunbeam.de |

DJ Mix vol. 3 Artist: KAI TRACID Label: Sony Music Entertainment / Dance Division (Germany) Style: Techno/Trance Index #: DAD 501625 2 |
|
| Review: | |
Volume
3 of KAI TRACID Official Club Tour Set has been released.
Similar to volume 1 and 2 KAI TRACID is presenting himself as
DJ. For this set he has chosen 24 tracks. Usually his set featured a
balanced mix of TRANCE and TECHNO
tunes. This one is actually different. There are several TRANCE
tunes like "Angel of Death" by
ANGEL OF DEATH (a KAI TRACID another project), "Definetly"
by YODA (mixed by SUNBEAM and KAI TRACID himself)
or outstanding chiller: "On The Border"
by HOPE feat. JOLANA LEE and few others (especially on first
CD) but most of remaining tunes are hard core TECHNO
and PROGRESSIVE HOUSE. These are really
club oriented and as such would be a good choice for all of you who
fall into club sound. Also DJs might use this set as well. I am not
particularly fond of this sound, but if you want DRUM
'N' BASS or TECHNO HOUSE you should
be OK. I really had a hard time to prepare the sound sampler since in
most cases the music is very repetitive inducing rather amok than realy
enjoyable dance. Granted some tunes like "Modem"
by DJ X2000 (remixed of DJ SCot Project) or forementioned above
are creative, but most of remaining will put you into more automated
mode and you might just get bored. I cannot criticize the tunes he selected
for this set, because he plays them. Seems to me that it probably sound
much better in club environment than in your home Entertainment Center
or worse in your computer CD-ROM. In general, I found this particular
release much less interesting compare with his two previous CDs. In
sound sampler I focused on music, so there is no original mixing by
KAI TRACID retained. I have chosen 6 tracks from both CDs.For more information about KAI TRACID visit his page at www.tracid.de. |

DJ Networx vol. 8 Label: 2001Sony Music Media (Germany) Style: Trance/Techno Index #: 501559 2 |
|
| Review: | |
In contrast to reviewed
above KAI TRACID set, "DJ Networx
vol. 8" not only met my expectation but superseded it.
DJ DEAN who usually mix for this double CD compilation has chosen
40 dynamic tracks from TRANCE and TECHNO
genres. DJ DEAN features some good, hard to get buy mixes as
well providing exciting dance experience. First CD as usually is more
devoted to TRANCE club trends. For starter
"Monstersound" by DJ BALLON
in COSMIC GATE Mix, also "Lovemachine"
by AQUAGEN is mixed by COSMIC GATE. Both tracks are already well
played and COSMIC GATE mixes are oustanding TRANCE
versions with incredible synth-work and excited buttoms overall. Truly
masterpieces of the genre. You will also find other tunes that you should
be familiar with like "Smile"
by FUTURE BREEZE or "Free"
by ULTRA or newest from MYTHOS 'N' COSMO - "Hymn"
(in haunting Airscape Mix) and MAURO's PICOTTO "Proximus".
This CD is full of cutting-edge TRANCE
sound. "Reality" by DJ KESSOK
is simply intoxicatingly hypnotic circuit TRANCE.
If you like COSMIC sound you really should
check pounding "The Touch" by
BALTES vs. STEVENS. This spacey fare is a chilling and mind fondling
experience. Imagination at your finger tips. Similar intense feelings
are delivered by BAGHERA's "Tears
May Fall" in DE VARGAS Mix truly a rousing, pumped-up TRANCE
stomper. Many others are worth of mentioning as well, but to really
understand the beauty of it, you have to treat yourself with full CD.
The second CD in more TECHNO oriented.
It's starts with TECHNO version of legendary
"French Kiss" originally by LIL
LOUIE now revamped by NIGHTCLUB. Be prepared
for extensive dose of hard beat and progressive buttoms when listening
to this club oriented CD. Taken together, volume 8 is one of the best
edition up-to-date. Well balanced both for club play as for your own
enjoyment in privacy of your home. Sound sound sampler features fragments
of 8 tunes taken from both CDs. I didn't feature original mixing by
DJ DEAN, you just have to trust me it is good. Enjoy the
sound and trip to exstatic sound of TRANCE
and TECHNO!If you want to buy this compilation or other great euro releases, visit http://www.europemusic.com |

ALMIGHTY ANTHEMS - A Decade Of Dance Label: 2000 Almighty Records (England) Style: High Energy/Dance Index #: ALMYCD34 |
|
| Review: | |
I am very thrilled to be
able to present this compilation. First of all I would like to thank
Alison from Almighty for starting supporting eurodancehits.com with
their releases. This label is already a legend of UK HIGH-ENERGY
scene with hundreds of singles released in past 10 years. Many of them
became classic of the genre. As a matter of fact this double CD compilation
is sort of summary of what happened in the label in the last years.
The compilation was divided into two parts: first CD puts in retrospective
view their releases between 1990-1995 while the second one covers 1995-2000
period. If you have been devoted HIGH-ENERGY
freak you should recognize many featured titles. I am sure you will
be eager to hear them again. All tracks are in their extended versions
and for your listening pleasure were mixed to assure that the party
will continue. Well... the authors of this compilation actually went
further. Many of featured CLASSIC tunes were remixed, making it even
more exciting offering especially for all of you who have the original
versions. The first CD starts with very first tune released on ALMIGHTY,
truly classic "Neverending Story"
by OBSESSION. Tune was remixed especially for this compilation.
Very, very different from the original one. The intro phase was extended
to eternity yet it has been enriched with beautiful strings and haunting
melody line. The rhythm is growing and increasing the speed with track's
progression to a marvellous EURO-TRANCE
oriented tune. Amazing combination if HIGH ENERGY
and TRANCE for hardcore fans of both worlds.
You will also find here other razor-edged DANCE beauties like "Save
Your Love For Me" by DESTINATION, my all time favorite
"Love In The Shadows" by LINDA
TAYLOR or very L.A. STYLE oriented tune "Baby
Don't Cha Leave Me This Way" by ROYAL 'T'. When listening
to both CDs I was really chilled. All the music I always loved, further
updated to more synth-oriented sound I've got in one set. Do yourself
a favor and get it. It's truly a collector item and real treat for quality
dance connoisseurs. In sound sampler I am featuring 6 tunes taken from
this compilation. Enjoy! For more information about this and another releases please visit Almighty Records. |

Boys Keep Swinging - Label: 2001 Klone Records / Rumour Records (UK) Style: Euro NRG/Dance Index #: CDKOPY 123 |
|
| Review: | |
In this batch two new previews
of offerings coming from UK NRG label KLONE
Records. Presented CD "Boys Keep Swinging"
contains 12 tracks all originated from S.A.I.F.A.M.
releases. Presented tunes are mostly covers of now tunes all remade
in NRG style. The first on CD is powerful
interperation of CELINE DION's "The
Power Of Love" done by U-TRAXX. You might recall
another remake recently done by FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, yet
U-TRAXX version is mory hypnotic with overall effect that is
haunting. Beatiful remake. Also THE HOOTER'S "Private
Emotion" was reworked by RED HARDIN in massive EURONRG
style with solid male and female vocals. Well.. many other covers from
repertoire of BACKSTREET BOYS, RICK ASHLEY and others. Taken
together if you like dance and EURO-NRG
and do not mind covers this will suit you very well. One more important
thing to mention is fact that tracks featured on this CD are in their
full extended, non-mixed versions. In sound sampler I featured 6 tracks.
Enjoy the sound and fine selection of musicFor more information about this and another releases please visit Klone/Rumour Records on line. |

|
| Review: | |
Another release from KLONE.
Last year I reviewed volume 1 that since it's released became one of
the most sought after KLONE releases. Today let me present you volume
2. It contains another fine selection of 18 tracks again all taken from
S.A.I.F.A.M.
vault. As subtitle indicates: 18 NRG ressurections,
all featured tunes represents cover of classic NRG
tunes. You will find in this release such classics as "Jump"
from VAN HALEN repertoir done in pure HIGH
ENERGY, "Running Up That Hill"
originally by KATE BUSH snd now done by LEVY 9. Also PHIL
COLLIN'S "Against All Odds"
received face lift by BOOSHIDA. Selection includes also remakes
of more current hits. For instance you will find in this double CD set
remake of currently a mega hit of ATC "Arond
The World" in interpretation of BBC, or SONIQUE's
"It Feels So Good" in storming
remake by ANGELICA. All featured tunes are in their extended
and non-mixed versions similar to above reviewed compilation. Taken
together very good set for all DANCE music
fans. Since S.A.I.F.A.M.
did not recently release new compilation from this genre, fans of their
music would be able to fill the gap by getting this set ad almost nominal
price directly from this UK Label. In mix I created you will find 7
tracks taken from both CDs. Enjoy! For more information about this and another releases please visit Klone/Rumour Records on line. |

TRANCE DANCE - Volume 7.0 Label: 2000 MORE Music (Germany) Style: Trance/Techno Index #: 879 360-2 |
|
| Review: | |
Seems to me that European
marked is flooded by variety of TRANCE compilation, so to choose one
that are more original becoming more and more challenging task for me.
"TRANCE DANCE - Volume 7" could be a choice. Several reasons
caused that I have decided to review that one. First it came from
MORE Music, a German label that has proven to release
good dance compilations. The second one was the fact that this double
CD compilation has "only" 26 tracks and that meant to me this
one might have longer hard to vome by versions. I was right on the money.
Indeed this double set includes many truly Extended versions in several
cases going beyond 8 minutes of playtime. Therefore, it should be an
attractive buy for DJs who spend money of getting singles and empting
their savings account. And finally THE MUSIC. Very exciting choices.
You will find some titles that have been around but also many that do
not repeat in other compilations. First CD starts with "Till
We Meet Again" by PUSH. Granted, track is well known
but featured version (too bad the name of it was not given) is a pounding
club monster. With almost 9 minutes of psychedelic beat and intoxicating
buttom you will be driven fast. Definately a club hit. Among other 13
tunes on the first CD you will find other exciting tunes offering you
an astounding trip throughout TRANCE scene.
Pounding "Sexomatic" by DJ-JAM-X
is another thundering tune with raving beat and melodic line to put
you into trance. It is hard to single out the titles. All of them are
good and gives you the opportunity to travel into various TECHNO/TRANCE
dimensions. From very "roomy" tune like "Sunrise"
by M.I.K.E. (ubelievable synths work and angelic chords of electronic
instruments implemented in this one) or "Summer
Madness" by MILKY WAY to very fast paced TECHNO-HOUSE
tunes like "Loops & Tings"
by RICHTHOVEN (this group interpretation is more orchestrated
than the one done by LADY TOM). The second CD is equally interesting.
It starts with "Sea Me" by TRANCE
COWBOYS. The beginning of this tune suggests DRUM'N'BASS
but it is just the beginning. It will soon begin with full-room TRANCE
massive monster. Great version for clubs. One of the tracks that truly
impressed me is "Baila Para Me"
by DJ DIGRESS. Featured version is sparkling sound with all the
panaches and brilliance you would expect from TRANCE
monster. Female vocals gives this song an impressive touch. Taken together
this is one of comps on the market that will offer more underground,
club oriented TRANCE/TECHNO sound not just
it's commercial flavor. Again, perfect buy for DJs! Since tracks are
not mixed, DJs have their work to do. In sound sampler you will find
6 tracks taken from both CDs. Enjoy the soundIf you want to buy this compilation please visit http://www.euromusicworld.com |

DJ Tiësto - In Search Of Sunrise 2 - Label: 2000 Black Hole Recording (Holland) Style: Chillout Trance Index #: SONGBIRD CD 05 |
|
| Review: | |
New offering from live
performance of DJ TIËSTO. The insert of CD says: Over a
year has past. He (DJ TIËSTO) has visited faraway lands
and has met many interesting and special people. These experiences have
influnced his choice of music to what you hear today. TIËSTO
tells you the full story here and now, on an amazing journey that will
take you from exotic places to the heartland of Europe. Are you in Search
of Sunrise too?" I am sure if you are not, his music will make
you. This set contains DJ TIËSTO Live Turntable mix he recorded
at Studio 301 in Sydney. The featured music is very special because
as it stated above DJ TIËSTO is trying to tell you the story.
Genre-wise this is what is called CHILLOUT - TRANCE
a reminiscence of NEW-AGE music. Very transcendental
and mind blowing. This offering is not simply to dance to but rather
to listen to. You should grab headphones and start listening to it.
Most of the featured titles will be rather unknown to most of you. Just
believe me, if you want the mind-tickling experience, this set is for
you. With beatiful music touching every single nerve you will experience
chilling adventure to cosmic music right from the beginning with angelic
"Tantrix" by TASTEEXPERIENCE
to the last minute of this compilation. I strongly recommend this release
to all of you whol like space and cosmic music. This one is for you.
I featured 6 tracks in sound sampler. Let me know what's your feeling
are after you will get this set.If you want to buy this compilation or other great euro releases, visit http://www.europemusic.com |

TSUNAMI ONE: Ferry Corsten & Robert Smit Label: 2000 Tsunami / Purple Eye Entertainment (Holland) Style: Trance/Techno Index #: CCD1501 |
|
| Review: | |
More than three years ago
TSUNAMI, label based in Holland
was established by three folks among them was FERRY CORSTEN and
ROBERT SMIT.The sound of TSUNAMI have reached every continent
on earth and delivered fascinating tracks like ground breaking "Out
Of The Blue" by SYSTEM F, a project of FERRY CORSTEN.
The label is moving up releasing truly sound of the future. Here is
the first compilation from this label. Both Ferry and Robert decided
to give you more the present and the future instead of looking back
and bringing the sound we already well know. Both guys are visionary
and presented music is indeed stimulating and mind-blowing. This double
CD features mixes done by both DJs. The first CD has been mixed by
FERRY CORSTEN. I do not need to introduce this DJ to true TRANCE
fans. Ferry did an outstanding job mixing top club sound for the new
millenium we just entered. CD starts with "Lost
In Motion" by SYSTEM F a transcendental journey through
the sound, followed by another Ferry's own tune "Galaxia"
in his another project MOONMAN. You will also find the newest
by GOURYELLA - "Tenshi"
written again by Ferry himself. His mix features some other great tunes
such "Dreaming" by BT,
Vandit Mix of PAUL VAN DYK's "Tell
Me Why" or top-notch club tune "Time
To Burn" by STORM. I was taken by Thrillseekers Remix
of "Someone" by ASCENSION.
The melodic line is stunning and featured TRANCE
sound is cutting-edge. The first CD is closed with "Field
Of Joy" by TONY WALKER. Second CD is mixed by ROBERT
SMIT. I have to admit, I did not have chance to listen to his mixes
that often before, but based on what he is offering here, I am telling
you, be prepared for the trip you will not forget. This mix is loaded
with tunes like "Silence" by
DELERIUM in unforgetable DJ Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix,
speedy TRANCE tune "Mayflower"
by TWENTY SOMETHING or "Voila"
by MOOGWAI in Armin Van Buuren Remix just to mention the few.
Outstanding choices and mix itself. At least as good as Ferry's if not
even better. Actually I shouldn't do such comparison. Both mixes deliver
the experience that will influence your mood and mind. While FERRY's
mix is more into TRANCE sound, Robert is
focusing more in TECHNO-HOUSE but TRANCE
found it's room in his mix as well. Great buy, great set. In sound sampler
I feature 6 tracks. 3 from each mix, and NO I did not retain the original
mixing, you have to trust me they were superb. I just wanted to give
you the sample of the music you will encounter, and ENCOUNTER it is.
Your pants will get wet! That's a promise! If you want to buy this compilation please visit http://www.euromusicworld.com |

Euphoria - Transcendental Label: 2000 Telstar Records (UK) Style: Trance/Progressive Index #: TTVCD3155 |
|
| Review: | |
I am always extremely happy
if my hands can lay on new release from UK series EUPHORIA. The set I am presenting today, I picked in London over Christmas, and
I have to tell you, this one is amazing. Mixed by Dave Pearce
set of 38 tracks on both CDs. For TRANCE lovers Dave is no stranger.
With 18 million listeners across the week to his Radio 1 show and DJing
in the UK and Europe he is pretty famous. On the top of it Dave also
established a label called NuLife
that since launch took dance floor by the storm with such tracks as
"R U Ready To Party" by THE
SHRINK, "And Da Drum Machine"
by DRUM MACHINE and others. The set features NuLife's biggest
dance track to date THE WARP BROTHERS vs. AQUAGEN - "Phatt
Bass". Well Dave indeed included great tunes in this set.
You will not only find well known TRANCE
tunes that reached anthem status done by FAITHLESS, DELERIUM, DARUDE,
LIGHTFORCE or MARC ET CLAUDE just to mention the few, but also some
more rare hard to find beauties. For instance "Come
Together (In Paradise)" by FLOYD is one of them.
Particularly CD 2 is rich with less known (to me), yet fascinating tunes.
That is why the mix I prepared from this compilation contains tunes
exclusively from that CD. So, you will find there not only forementioned
track by FLOYD, but also other wonderful tunes. For instance
"Rise" by GABRIELLE mixed
by Matt Darey delivers powerful, pounding PROGRESSIVE/TRANCE
with mind-blowing bottom. Exquisitely lush strings, galloping synths
and female vocal in the background are stunning. You will also find
on this CD re-worked "Home" by
CHAKRA or haunting "Save Your Life"
by BLACK SPIDER. You simply cannot miss unbelievable and compeling
"Fly Away" by VINCENT DE MOOR.
Each and every one of you who value quality TRANCE sound cannot afford
to be without this set. Truly outstnading choices and great mix itself.
Worth money you will pay for it. Sound sampler features 6 tracks. The
original mixing was NOT retained. I focused rather on the featured music
than anything else. |
